SALT PRODUCTION AND REFINING SECTOR:

This sector is the most recent sector established by the corporation. The importance of the sector is represented in the economic feasibility of current industries refining salt and its derivatives that are used for drug and chemical industries.

Evolution of the Sector:

Established in 2006. Current products of the sector: The sector produces and market crude sea salt locally and externally in different packing (10kg-20kg and50kg). Potential products of the sector: The corporation is currently studying the possibility of establishing a factory for the refining and manufacturing of salt derivatives that are important for drug and chemical industries. Projects under construction: The sector is currently rehabilitating: 1.10 salt production basins. 2. Deepening 5 channels the length of each is 348m.  3. Construct and enhance a number of sand barriers to increase productive capacity. Future projects: 1-Increase production quantities to cover local market and export to abroad. 2-create new production unit for the production and refining of salt by production capacity15ton/hour. Certificates obtained by the sector:  In 2001.the sector obtained the golden prize for quality from Europe.
