STORAGE AND COOLING SECTOR

Establishment

The sector was established in 1984to provide fixed and mobilestorage and cooling services foragricultural products food, vegetables and fruits as well as providing the services of installing fixed fridges to clients using national specializes staff.

Locations of big cooling facilities: The sector has cooling facilities in the following regions:  (Sana'a - M.abar - Dhammar – Aden) Total capacity, 5100 ton operating by Ammonia and Freon. equipped by modem cooling system linked to control room and computer screens to control cooling, ventilation' humidity and drying. The facilities have modern machinery for sorting, grading and packing. The capacity of the reception and dispatch hall is estimated to 10 trailers at one time. Location of small and medium cooling facilities: The sector has a number of cooling facilities in different governorates of the Republic. The collective storage capacity is more than 10,000 ton including: 1. Freezer (Mukalla - Hadramout): Mukalla freezer has a number of small freezers in addition to 11 fridges. The total storage capacity is 600 tons (provided with a lab to inspect incoming fish).  2. Mobile cooling and freezing services The sector provides the services of mobile cooling and freezing using heavy medium and light vehicles. The loads of the mobile fleets range between 4 to 20 tons.
