• To provide the
armed and security forces with their needs
and perquisite commodities in accordance with defined
specifications and plans and from the best local or foreign
agencies and sources; |

• To meet
the needs of the people and provide them with
all basic goods from the best local or foreign agencies
and sources. This is in order to avoid any attempts of
monopolization or bottlenecks of goods in accordance
with the general action plan of the government. |
|
• To undertake
any industrial projects that may serve the
process of economic development either individually or
partnership-wise by focusing on the industries which
depend basically on local raw materials;
|
|
• To participate
in the marketing of agricultural products and
livestock and to have shares in the national and foreign
capitals of any investment project in accordance with the
government’s economic orientation;
|
|
• To cooperate
with governmental agencies in supervising the
reception and delivery of goods, commodities and other
supplies from and to Yemen as well as distributing them
by YECO’s branches and areas pursuant to the outlined
plans;
|
|
• To assist the
government in carrying out strategic storing of
necessary goods for times of emergency.
