COMMERCIAL SECTOR

Evolution of the Sector:

   The sector was established in the year 1973.

The economic and commercial significance of this sector is as follows:

1-Contribute in achieving national food
security.

2.Provide local markets by food and gar­ments and supply the requirements of The armed forces.

3.Provide the local market with office and house furniture. electrical appliances, houseware and building materials in high quality and low cost.

Policies of the Sector:

In order to achieve envisaged objective, the sector is adopting a number of policies:

1. selecting the best local and foreign suppliers for food products. 'The sector is having distinctive business relations with a number of companies.

2.Improve the distribution of sale and marketing services to cover all governorates of the Republic.

3.Reduce the burden on public mixed and private sector employees by selling products in installments by reasonable prices.

4.contribute to fulfilling there requirement of local markets (bakeries)of wheat flour for bread making.

5.contributeto the development of local and foreign trade through holding exhibi­tions and construction of exhibition halls for international and local fairs.The Corporation has an exhibition hall of 1620 sqm area in Hodiedah city.
